Childrens Camps

In addition to our regular non residential courses we run two pony club camps per year. Enjoy camp on one of our riding school ponies or bring your own pony.

Dates vary yearly and will be published on our news page.
The camps include the following:
3 - 4 hours riding each day in the form of instruction - flatwork and jumping & hacking out. Mornings are taken up with lessons and afternoons with fun events such as treasure hunts, games, cushion polo and hacks.
Mid week picnic ride - may include trip to the River Otter (weather conditions dependant)

A show with several classes on the last day.
Organised fun events and games each evening.
The children will learn how to look after their own horse from the first feed of the day to putting their ponies to bed plus lots of fun events in-between.

Riders will be split into groups according to levels of experience and camps cater for all levels from competent walk and trot upwards.
Camp preparation and dates are usually published at the beginning of February each year. All those who attended the last years camp will automatically get a place on the following years camp. A waiting list is taken and once the previous years places are taken up then places are issued to those on the waiting list. A non refundable deposit is required on booking of £100. Please email chrissy@devonriding.co.uk or call if interested - we will need to know age and level of experience, please.
